My Gurus
My mother, my first Guru
My mother is a much loved doctor. I have seen her consulting people without expecting anything in return. She drilled into us the values of good nutrition and healthy habits. Thanks to her, I have not had any health issues in my life, even living in very extreme circumstances for many years. And I never fell into the pits of intoxication to escape life. I learnt the value of consistency, personal and professional discipline, charity, compassion and selfless work. I learnt the art of providing good meals to growing children.
She made three warm meals a day, in between getting us ready for school, her six-hour shifts and taking care of us after school, and all the essentials that go into running a household. She made fresh curds and fresh ‘cultured’ butter at home. Also, gulab jamuns, cakes, chutneys, ice cream, cold coffee and all kinds of other treats. No food from outside. Only freshly made home-cooked food. We had soaked almonds in the morning, salads and raita in the afternoon and fruit at every opportunity!
It is on these foundations that my body stands.
My day is not over if I don’t have my nuts, fruit and salad.
She never bought Cola or chips. She didn’t see white sandwich bread as food.
At the same time, she also didn’t deprive us of treats. We did have jalebi and samosas occasionally, fully aware that these were fun foods and we could eat them sometimes, and only as much.
From her, I also learnt to value my body and dignity above all.
Sadhguru
I have learnt much more about food and nutrition, and the many other aspects that go into maintaining optimal health from a few videos from him than in my fifteen year career studying life science.
I have been living his recommendations for about five years now; and life has gone quite well…
Guru Pashupati
My understanding of maintaining Arogya and enabling the body to heal itself has gone to another level since I came across Guru Pashupati about ten months back. Make sure you check out his YouTube Channel!
Key learning: Justice is the privilege of the powerful. If you want justice, become powerful.
I am on my journey to become powerful!
Swamy Srii Raj Vibhu
About 90% of Ayurveda knowledge has been lost. He is trying to revive some forgotten bits.
He runs a program for neuro-musculoskeletal issues https://avisahealing.com/. My mother has seen miraculous results following the recommended exercise program - in just about three months! There are also programs for fertility https://medinicare.com/, and reversing chronic disease https://www.astikakumbhak.com/. All programs are very modestly priced. They are totally over-delivering!
Their team has also developed an educational program for children and are in the process of setting up a Gurukul.
Key learning:
Yatha balam, tatha chikitsa: Where there is strength, there is healing. Reversing disease and ailments starts from strengthening the internal organs, enabling the body to heal itself. Medicines can also help only when the body becomes able to heal itself.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Key learning:
Forgive and forget people who hurt you.
When you have recovered enough, thank them for having taken their revenge in this lifetime, so that you can be free in your next lifetimes. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Dr Khushdeep Bansal, my Vastu Guruji
Studying under him has opened my eyes to a new world and brought about massive changes in my life.
Key learning:
Do not complain. Society works the way it does, the law and order situation is the way it is, the economic conditions in India are the way they are.
I would recommend to everyone to take their foundation course. It will get your life moving! https://www.mahavastu.com/
Dr Robert Svoboda
Dr Svoboda was the first Westerner to earn a BAMS degree in India, becoming an Ayurvedic practitioner. He says that at that time (in the late seventies), students who didn’t get admission in MBBS would study Ayurveda as a compromise. Sadly, this is still the case after 50 years.
In the meantime, he has become very knowledgeable in many different Vedic Vidyas. You can learn Astrology and Vastu, apart from Ayurveda from him (https://drsvoboda.teachable.com/, https://www.youtube.com/@DrRobertSvoboda). I hope to be like him one day!
Key learning:
Do not ask for justice because you don’t know what you have done in your previous lifetimes.

You have been given a body type. The starting point of your material existence is the way it is.
