Burger buns
You will need:
- 300g wholemeal wheat flour
- 50g butter, softened
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- warm water
Mix all ingredients into a rather wet dough and let it rise for an hour. Just mix it all together well with a spoon, no need to use your hands. After the mix has risen, knead well for 5-10 minutes and divide the dough in 9 balls. You can use a balance if you’d like, to get even sized buns. Flatten the balls and place them on the baking tray to rise for another 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 230 degrees.
- Bake the buns for 15 min.
- Let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
These will not be as fluffy or big as the store bought buns, but they will be tasty and will have character.
Enjoy warm with plain or herbal butter, or with home-made vegetarian patties.
